Hot Springs police investigating a hit-and-run wreck arrested a local man Sunday morning after a gun and drugs were allegedly found in his possession.

Darryl Lavell Williams, 23, who lists an Amity Road address, was taken into custody at 10:15 a.m. Sunday and charged with felony counts of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, and possession of a controlled substance, punishable by up to six years.

Williams was being held without bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were on patrol trying to locate a maroon passenger car believed to have front-end damage from a hit-and-run wreck in the 600 block of Garland Street when they spotted a Hyundai Sonata at 1104 Rector St. that matched the description.

The Sonata had some minor damage to the front right and the hood was still warm as if it had recently been operated. While officers were checking the car, a shirtless man, identified as Williams, came out of the Rector Street residence. He told officers the car belonged to his fiancee who had gone to Malvern to catch a train.

Williams denied having driven the car and then noted he was cold and wanted to go inside to get a shirt. Officers accompanied him inside where he retrieved a shirt from a bag on the sofa he reportedly admitted was his bag.

Williams allegedly began feeling under the sofa cushions saying, "That (expletive) stole my phone and money." Then he began removing clothing from the bag. While he was doing so, a large plastic bag containing several smaller baggies fell out of his bag.

One of the baggies allegedly contained 1.5 grams of what later tested positive for meth. A .25-caliber automatic pistol was reportedly found under the sofa cushion in the area where Williams had been reaching.

Williams told police he was there at the residence to get his friend because the residence was "a drug house."

Megan Marie Creasy, 29, who lists a Lloyds Lane address, Garrett Colton Frye, 26, who lists a Ward Street address, and Steven Earl Travis, who lists a Crystal Hill Road address, were all taken into custody shortly after 9:30 a.m. after meth, heroin and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in the vehicle.

Creasy and Frye were each charged with possession of meth with purpose to deliver, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and Creasy was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate crime, each punishable by up to 20 years.

Travis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to six years.

Creasy remained in custody Monday in lieu of $12,500 bond, while Travis was being held on $5,000 bond and Frye on $2,500 bond. All three were set to appear Monday in district court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 9:30 a.m. Saturday officers Brian Branstetter and Richard Davis saw a white 1998 Buick Century westbound on Greenwood Avenue with expired tags and no rear windshield, so they made a traffic stop in the 200 block of Pinewood Street.

The female driver, later identified as Creasy, reportedly exited the vehicle and refused repeated commands to get back in the car. She was detained due to her "erratic behavior" and the rear seat passenger, identified as Travis, allegedly stated he was "just getting a ride" and that he knew Creasy sold drugs.

The passenger in the front seat, later identified as Frye, was unresponsive to verbal commands from Davis who asked Travis what he might have taken. Travis allegedly said "possibly heroin" and Davis was finally able to revive Frye by administering four sternum rubs.

Frye was removed and detained and allegedly dropped a bandanna on the ground. Cpl. Brandon Jones and his K-9 partner, Keena, arrived to assist and Keena alerted on the bandanna, which was allegedly found to contain a digital scale and a pill bottle with a plastic bag containing what later tested positive for meth, 1.1 grams.

Keena also alerted inside the vehicle where officers found a backpack in the back seat that contained several syringes, including one with 20 cc of what later tested positive for heroin. LifeNet responded to check Frye and Creasy, who claimed she was having a panic attack, and both were cleared at the scene.

All three suspects were taken into custody on the felony charges and Creasy was also cited for no proof of insurance, expired license and operating an unsafe vehicle.
