An unidentified woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with a shooting on a fenced-off property on Highway 290 earlier in the day, according to the Garland County Sheriff's Department.
"A male has been shot in the lower back and is being transported to a local area hospital and a person of interest whom they have detained at this time," Garland County sheriff's Sgt. John Schroeder said.
Schroeder said the female, whose name had not been released at presstime, was being processed following her arrest. The specific charge was not released.
The shooting victim, whose identity was not being released, was transported from the scene at 4178 Highway 290 by a LifeNet ambulance. Media could not enter the property, which was gated off, and posted with "private property -- no trespassing" and security and video surveillance signs.
"This facility under video surveillance," stated one sign, which had the words "I see you" handwritten on it, along with a pair of eyes drawn in.
Schroeder said deputies responded to a call received at around 11 a.m. and responded to the scene 10 minutes later.
