A Hot Springs man was arrested late Wednesday after he allegedly attacked his father because he wouldn't give him a beer.

Brad Austin Brown, 20, who lists a 121 Puff Trail address, was taken into custody at his home and charged with third-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Brown remained in custody Thursday on zero bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 11:30 p.m. Garland County sheriff's Deputy Bennie Strickland was dispatched to the Puff Trial residence in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, Strickland made contact with a man standing in the front yard with visible injuries to his face. He told the deputy his son had attacked him "due to not giving him a beer."

Brown walked into the yard later and said, "I beat my dad's (expletive)." The man told deputies that when he refused to give his son a beer he punched him in the mouth and busted his lip.

He said his son continued to punch him as he was trying to get outside. After he was able to exit the residence, his son allegedly began kicking him in the back while he was on the porch.

The father said he was finally able to get up and run to his sister's house across the street and call 911.

He reportedly suffered an injury to his bottom lip, forehead and left forearm.
