Village author to speak at 'Wine and Cheese with the Author'

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Friends of the Coronado Center Library continues its "Wine and Cheese with the Author" series at 3 p.m. July 27 with a return visit from Hot Springs Village author Charles Heaton Allen.

The talk will be held in Room 6 of the Coronado Center and is free and open to the public.

Allen will discuss his latest publication, "The Expansion of Christianity," a condensed history of all Christian denominations and how they spread around the world. This book is intended for "the average person who wants to learn the details of Christian history without plowing through thousands of pages," a news release said. Allen used 29 sources, which included nearly 5,000 pages of material to research and condense.

Allen was a history teacher/professor for 32 years. He coached football at Baylor University and refereed Dallas Cowboys practices when they were three-time NFL champions. Allen and his wife, Joyce, created and host the Bebopper Dances in the Village.
