NPPC photography club to meet Tuesday

The National Park Photography Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Garland County Library on Malvern Avenue. The meeting will feature a lesson entitled "Macro Photography Illuminated," where participants will explore macro photography in the digital world with explanations about lenses, depth of focus versus F-stop, focus stacking and what are the most important things to remember when trying a macro shot. Those who have never tried true macro shots may be awed with the view of the world very close up. Bring an example of a personal macro shot on a thumb drive, 1024 x 768 pixels. NPPC charter member Robert Sonnen will make the presentation.

One of the goals of the National Park Photography Club is to give its members the tools they need to improve their photographic skills. This lesson is a continuation of this ongoing educational process and opportunity to learn photographic techniques for closeup photography. This is the session for those who like insects and spiders.

The club judging will be submitted for the Gulf States Camera Club Counsel September contest, which is Pictorial Prints, color and black and white, and Nature, projected images and prints. Members may make up to four submissions in each category.

NPPC welcomes new members who are interested in expanding their photography skills in a collegial and supportive environment. A one-year membership to NPPC is $20.
