Hi-def movies from phone and video cameras available on Blu-ray from The Photo Finishers

"For the first time, you can enjoy your home videos on your TV in high-definition with new Blu-ray disk video services from The Photo Finishers. Now, take advantage of the full resolution you are capturing with your phone and video device with this new high-definition digital service," states the press release.

Why choose Blu-ray? There are a several points that differentiate this media from others currently available. Blu-ray disks offer higher definition (better quality picture) than traditional DVDs. "In terms of resolution, the Blu-ray can contain almost 6 times the resolution of a DVD. What that means is sharper, clearer video and a much wider color space, so when viewing on a HDTV with a Blu-ray player, your video will appear even more life-like and realistic," says Waco Hill, owner of The Photo Finishers.

In addition to the higher resolution output, Hill notes another benefit is that the Blu-ray disks have been engineered with an ultra hard, thin polymer coating that prevents scratching and damage due to mishandling far superior to that of the traditional DVD disks. Which means that the disks are durable and stand up to the drops and scratches that will inevitably happen.

When asked why go to the expense of adding this new service now, Waco replied in the release, "Actually, we've been testing the media for some time, but haven't offered it because we wanted to make sure that what our clients receive is the highest quality possible, is very reliable, long lasting and at an affordable price. We've been doing DVDs for years and will continue to do so. DVDs are still the most stable and tested format. Our media is tested and rated at 100-year life. It is important to myself, Sandy and Olivia that our clients' life videos are going to be around for their life and beyond, and we guarantee all our work. We still love the DVD and see no point when it becomes a dead media. It's a fantastic and incredibly universal format, but we have been getting requests for Blu-ray, and we are always working to expand and meet all our clients' needs, whatever they may be."

What should readers choose to give the Blu-ray treatment to? Hill replied, "Any high-definition source is available for transfer to the Blu-ray format now. I guess I am just getting old, but I don't like to look at that tiny phone screen, I prefer to watch video on my TV, sitting on my sofa. One additional advantage, not to be overlooked, is that having a Blu-ray creates a backup HD master should a phone ever crash or need replacing, so all your video is not lost. Blu-ray's are ideal for files from a phone, HD camera and camcorder, media cards or our custom video services, such as weddings, memorial videos, family history videos. Anything with a high definition source will be amazing and benefit by utilizing the Blu-ray media."

"We have been doing film-to-video tape transfers and video slide shows since 1996, and we have continued to invest in new technology and training to provide services for all the new digital video file formats, as well as the capability to migrate all the memories we have stored on film and analog audio and video media to modern storage devices. We're proud to have developed the Blu-ray service that our clients have been asking for."

For over 21 years, The Photo Finishers has been located at 1819 Albert Pike Suite F in Hot Springs and all printing and video transfer service is done locally, right in the store.
