Aaron Matthew Haralson, 29, who lists a Mountain Pine Road address, was taken into custody around 10 a.m. and charged with failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Haralson remained in custody on $5,050 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Haralson was convicted of sexual indecency with a child in Hot Springs on May 11, 2009. On Nov. 21, 2017, he reportedly verified his residency with the Garland County sheriff's office and was given a return verification date of May 12.

As a registered sex offender, Haralson is required to report and verify registration in person every six months.

On June 14, the sheriff's department was notified that Haralson failed to verify his registration in person on May 12, and has failed to verify his current address with the sheriff's office or any other law enforcement agency.
