NPMC Junior Volunteer Summer Program kicks off

The 2018 National Park Medical Center Junior Volunteer Summer Service Program got underway this week with 15 participants.

The program is designed to teach youths 14 to 17 years old about the health care industry through observation of various hospital departments, including Emergency Services, Health Information Management, Human Resources, Outpatient Surgery, Cardiac Rehab, Marketing and Administration.

"NPMC encourages students that are interested in the many facets of health care to experience what it's like to be in a health care environment on a daily basis," Heather Buckley, NPMC marketing and volunteer manager, said in a news release.

"We are thrilled to have such an enthusiastic and talented group of students this year."

The 2018 program runs through Aug. 3.
