A Hot Springs Village woman was arrested on a felony battery charge Thursday for allegedly causing injuries to her 69-year-old husband during an altercation at their home.

Hasna Gaborno Lacorte, 24, of 86 Ponteverda Drive, was taken into custody at her residence shortly after 6:30 p.m. and charged with second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Lacorte was being held on zero bond and was set to appear Friday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 5:45 p.m., Hot Springs Village police were dispatched to the couple's residence regarding a verbal disturbance and upon arrival made contact with Lacorte's husband who told them the disturbance had become physical.

He stated he and his wife had been involved in an argument when she began taking his clothes from the bedroom and placing them in the living room. He said she grabbed his left wrist and told him to pack his clothes and leave the residence.

He said she then kicked him in the right knee so he pushed her onto the sofa. At that point, she struck him in the groin area with her knee, he said. Officers noted had a mark on his wrist that appeared to be from a fingernail, but didn't have any other visible injuries.

Lacorte told police she grabbed her husband's wrist when he had raised his hand as if he was going to slap her. She reportedly admitted she did kick him in the knee, but denied striking him in the groin.

When asked, her husband reportedly confirmed he did raise a hand as if he was going to strike her and it was possible the injury to his wrist had occurred at that time. Both Lacorte and her husband stated he never struck her during the incident.

Lacorte admitted to police she knew her husband was 69 years old. The affidavit notes that due to Lacorte causing physical injury to her husband and knowing he was over 60 years old, she was taken into custody on a felony charge of battery.
