Last year, there were more than 435,136 patient visits in the 2017 fiscal year at ACH, including over 8,000 from Garland County. This year, Circle of Friends chapters across the state hope to raise a combined $861,350 to support the hospital.

Circle of Friends members work to promote children's health through education, advocacy and fundraising for Arkansas Children's Hospital, the state's only pediatric medical facility. There are 10 Circle of Friends chapters statewide.

Splash of Red began in 2002 when a few Circle of Friends members decided that Garland County needed a gala event with silent and live auctions. Originally called Mash Bash, the name was changed after watching an Oprah show on party planning when it was suggested that a "splash of color" could be a theme for any kind of party. After tossing around different colors that sounded best with "splash," they chose red.
