A Jacksonville man was arrested early Saturday for allegedly firing one round into a Hot Springs nightclub after he was ejected by security following a fight with other patrons.

David Jewel Myers, 37, was taken into custody outside Boot Scooters, 421 Broadway St., around 4:50 a.m. and charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor charge of carrying certain prohibited weapons, punishable by up to one year in jail.

He was released from custody on $8,500 bond and set to appear in Garland County District Court on April 3.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Myers was allegedly involved in a physical altercation just before 4 a.m. with three other individuals inside the nightclub. Security personnel separated the arguing parties and reportedly had Myers exit the building through a side door.

Myers allegedly produced a .22-caliber revolver and returned to the door. He then allegedly pointed the weapon at the three individuals he had been fighting with and fired once into the building. No one was injured.

Security personnel then reportedly tackled Myers to the ground and detained him until Hot Springs police in the area arrived on scene. Officers reportedly recovered a .22-caliber revolver with one spent cartridge.

The surveillance footage from inside the club reportedly corroborated the statements made by the victims and witnesses.

• A Mena woman was arrested after she was allegedly found in possession of about 3.5 ounces of marijuana and two hydromorphone pills following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.

Kaylie Marie Stroud, 22, was taken into custody in the 100 block of East Grand Avenue just after 5 p.m. and charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance, punishable by up to six years, and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to one year in jail.

She was later released on $4,500 bond and is set to appear April 3 in district court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Hot Springs police Officer Jonathan Smith reportedly observed a gray Nissan Altima being driven by a woman in the drive-through at McDonald's, 200 E. Grand Ave. The vehicle allegedly had damage to the front windshield, about the size of a basketball, impeding the driver's view and a damaged, nonoperational rear passenger brake light.

Smith attempted to follow the vehicle but lost it in a car wash parking lot. He later located the same vehicle but the driver had allegedly switched seats with a man.

Smith initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Grand and located four individuals inside the vehicle. When he asked them if they had anything in the vehicle he needed to be aware of, Stroud allegedly stated she "wanted to be honest" and pulled a Mason jar containing approximately 3.5 ounces of suspected marijuana from her bag.

Stroud was arrested at the scene. Another woman in the vehicle reportedly gave officers a wooden marijuana pipe and disclosed she had hidden a syringe in a body cavity. A female officer arrived on scene to assist in the removal of the syringe.

The other occupants of the vehicle exited one-by-one and were searched. One knife and a marijuana pipe were recovered from the other occupants. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly recovered four unused syringe needles and two hydromorphone pills.
