A previously convicted felon was arrested early Friday after allegedly shooting at three people outside a local apartment complex following a confrontation.

Dontae Lamont Addy, 30, who lists a Bailey Place address, was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. Friday and charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of theft by receiving, each punishable by up to six years in prison.

Addy remained in custody Friday in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000 and is set to appear April 10 in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 2:30 a.m., Hot Springs police responded to the Maza Apartments, 2000 Central Ave., in reference to an aggravated assault that had just occurred.

Officers spoke with three victims who stated that a former tenant came to collect his belongings and was accompanied by another man, later identified as Addy.

An argument ensued and the former tenant and Addy began to leave when Addy allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired five times toward the three victims, with four rounds reportedly hitting a building next to the victims. Both men then fled the area in different directions.

A description of Addy was given to officers and Hot Springs police Officer Jason Greene observed a man about a block away in the 600 block of Linwood Avenue who matched the description and detained him. The three victims reportedly confirmed that Addy was the man that shot at them.

Addy allegedly told officers he was in possession of a handgun and officers found a .40-caliber handgun on his person, which was determined to be stolen out of Garland County.

Addy was convicted on felony charges on April 1, 2014, and March 10, 2015, in Garland County.
