A Hot Springs woman was arrested on a felony charge early Thursday after she was allegedly found in possession of meth, marijuana and a pistol.

Angela Christine Loveless, 32, who lists a Potter Street address, was taken into custody shortly before 2:30 a.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison.

She was being held without bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 1:30 a.m., Garland County sheriff's Sgt. Greg Kellar and Deputy Clayton Green were dispatched to a burglary in progress on Alanna Drive and were told a white passenger car had left the scene headed toward Central Avenue.

Kellar spotted a small white car and he and Green stopped it in the 5400 block of Central and made contact with the driver, identified as Loveless, and a male passenger, 25, and noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

When asked, Loveless allegedly admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in her purse in the back seat and 1.3 gram of marijuana was found. When asked if she had anything else illegal, Loveless reportedly told deputies she had a gun under the driver's seat.

A small unloaded .25-caliber pistol was found and a magazine with seven rounds that fit the pistol was found in the glove compartment. In searching her purse further, Green found a pill bottle with the label torn off that had a baggie with 0.3 gram of what later tested positive for meth so she was taken into custody.

Loveless reportedly stated she had an addiction problem and was "trying to do well."
