A Hot Springs man was arrested Sunday afternoon on felony charges after allegedly threatening two people with a rifle during an altercation.

Darryl Lavell Williams, 24, who lists a Geronimo Street address, was taken into custody shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, punishable by up to six years in prison.

Williams, who also had a warrant for failure to appear, was being held on $5,000 bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Hot Springs police responded to a residence in the 400 block of Henry Street regarding a man threatening other people with a firearm.

Officers arrived and saw a man matching the description of the suspect, identified as Williams, who was standing beside a 2006 Chevrolet Impala parked in front of the residence. A woman was standing near Williams and a second man was on the porch of the residence.

The man on the porch told police Williams and the woman had arrived in the Impala and were arguing. He said he thought the woman was being attacked by Williams and then she gave her keys to him to put inside the residence so Williams could not take her vehicle.

The man said Williams took out what he thought was a shotgun from the back seat of the vehicle and began threatening to shoot him and the woman while waving the gun toward both of them and demanding the car keys.

Police talked to the woman who reportedly corroborated the man's story, also alleging Williams threatened to kill her several times. She told them the Impala belonged to her and gave them permission to search it and officers located a .22-caliber rifle in the trunk. The rifle was not loaded but officers found a backpack containing 39 .22-caliber rounds.

While being transported to jail, Williams allegedly told police, "I didn't even shoot. Next time I'll shoot."

Walker

Anthony Joseph Walker, 41, of 1518 Malvern Ave., was taken into custody at his residence shortly before 4:30 p.m. and charged with a felony count of terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison, three misdemeanor counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, punishable by up to one year in jail, and two misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault on a family or household member.

Walker was being held on $4,000 bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 4:15 p.m. Friday, Officer 1st Class Joseph Samuels responded to the residence regarding a disturbance and made contact with Walker, his girlfriend and the children.

The girlfriend stated that around 4 p.m. she had arrived home and that Walker was "very agitated" with her and began arguing with her in their bedroom. She said he accused her of cheating on him and then picked up a short sword and told her, "If you leave me I'll kill you."

She said she attempted to pick up a second short sword, but Walker took it away from her and left the bedroom with both swords. He entered the living room where the children were standing and threw one sword past them into the kitchen. Then he allegedly threw the second sword at the front door "with such force it caused the sword to get stuck in the door frame."

Walker then allegedly returned to the bedroom and began pushing and yelling at his girlfriend. She was yelling and her daughter ran in to check on her and Walker reportedly said, "Mind your business. A kid needs to know that." Then he allegedly pushed the daughter, causing her to fall backward into the wall.

Walker then left the room again and began throwing and breaking items throughout the house. He returned to the bedroom again and the girlfriend said he tried to punch her in the face, but she put her hands up in defense causing him to poke her in the eye.

Officers did not observe any visible injuries to the girlfriend or the children and they declined medical treatment.

The affidavit notes Walker was walking away from the residence when he was taken into custody and was "being aggressive and not cooperating" with commands.
