Disappointed in CVB

Dear editor:

I am very disappointed with Steve Arrison and our local convention and visitors bureau. We drove all the way down from Mount Ida Saturday night with our grandchildren to see "WrestleRaise V" at the arena. The event was headlined as featuring Ric "Nature Boy" Flair, 16-time NWA champion. Truthfully, there wasn't much of any other reason to go. After buying $100 worth of tickets, the first announcement made was that Flair wasn't going to be there. We turned and left, but not before searching in vain for someone who could give us a straight answer on a full or partial refund on our tickets. I'm going to continue to look for a legal recourse on this.

This is the second time in a number of years Arrison has brought pro wrestling to town and it has turned out to be less than advertised. A few years back, WWE came, and the main event participants, including Hunter "Triple H" Helmsley, no-showed. It's blatant false advertising.

I believe Arrison's time in the position has run its course. He did a great job initially, but in the past few years, the facility hasn't had any good concerts, they simply rent it out to cheerleading and gymnastic competitions every weekend. He even lost the Sun Belt tournament a few years back, which drew tremendous revenue to the city. It's time to make a change.
