Briar Jackson, a 911 dispatcher, fills his plate with slices of beef brisket at the annual EMS and first responder appreciation dinner at LifeNet, 220 Ouachita Ave., on Wednesday. EMS Week is a national celebration held each year during the third week of May to recognize medical personnel and public safety professionals. LifeNet Inc. hosted the dinner, catered by Smokin' In Style BBQ, to honor local EMS, firefighters, police and first responders.
