The Rotary Club of Hot Springs Village recently heard a program from Lance Restum, on-field emcee for the Arkansas Travelers baseball team. He took members behind the scenes for background on the Travs that is not known to many. The Arkansas Travelers, based at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, are an AA team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. The Travelers' name, dating from 1901, is the third-oldest in professional sports franchise history and reflects a popular song from the late 1800s called "The Arkansas Traveler." HSV Rotary President Steve Wright, left, welcomed Lance Restum along with Rotarian of the Day Lori McMinn. Membership is open to all men and women, with guests welcome at the HSV club, which meets in the Fireside Dining Room at Good Sam's, 121 Cortez Road, at 7 a.m. Thursdays.
