A Searcy man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly became belligerent and shoved a local man, possibly breaking his wrist.

Lance Clark, 31, was arrested in the 300 block of Lakeland Drive around 8 p.m. and charged with felony second-degree battery, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of public intoxication.

He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $3,000 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Garland County sheriff's Deputy John Crow responded to an address in the 300 block of Lakeland at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a disorderly person.

When Crow arrived, the victim told the deputy that Clark was inside his residence. Crow reportedly located Clark asleep on the victim's couch with his shoes on and a beer clutched in his hand. When he attempted to wake him, Clark reportedly lifted his head and began mumbling incoherently.

Crow asked the victim if Clark was allowed to be inside the residence. The victim responded that he was, and said that he had known Clark for several days. Crow left, but just over an hour later, responded to the same address in reference to a medical emergency. When he arrived, the same victim told him Clark had reportedly become violent and began throwing things.

He alleged Clark had pushed him down and then left in an unknown direction. His arm reportedly appeared swollen and possibly broken just above the wrist.

The living room was reportedly littered with items that appeared to have been thrown on the floor. The victim was transported to an area hospital by LifeNet.

While searching the area, Crow reportedly located Clark standing on the roadside in the same block of Lakeland and noted he detected a strong odor of intoxicants on Clark's breath, and his speech was slurred and mostly incoherent.

When Crow asked Clark if he remembered speaking to him earlier that night, Clark reportedly responded he did not. He told Crow the victim had become irate and chased him from the home.

Clark was placed in custody and Crow began searching his belongings. Inside a backpack, Crow reportedly located three wine coolers.

While Crow searched the backpack, Clark reportedly began slamming his head against the cage inside the patrol unit. He was later transported to the Garland County Detention Center.
