Hot Springs man killed in two-car collision

A Hot Springs man was killed Tuesday afternoon and four others were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 north near Jessieville, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary released Wednesday.

Chad Eric Moreland, 46, driving a 2011 Cadillac, was reportedly northbound in the 5400 block of Highway 7 shortly after 2:30 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Hyundai, driven by Tanya D. Bane, 46, of Clarksville.

Moreland was killed and Tanya Bane, a passenger, Williams J. Bane, 46, also of Clarksville, and two female minors who were passengers in Bane's car, ages not released, were all injured.

One of the injured was airlifted from the scene and three others were transported by LifeNet. Some of the injured were taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and others were taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, according to the report.

The report notes road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
