Swecker leads Arkansas All-Stars

ROGERS -- Lake Hamilton senior Colby Swecker posted the best time for Arkansas as the team edged Oklahoma by seven points in the 25th annual Arkansas-Oklahoma All-Star Cross Country meet on Saturday.

Oklahoma All-Star senior Colten Brown won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:05.93. He was followed by fellow Sooners Collen McLain, junior, 16:09.84; Christian Arenivar, junior, 16:12.55; and Johan Juarez, junior, 16:14.58.

Swecker was the first runner from Arkansas to finish. He placed fifth with a time of 16:19.87.

The Arkansas team won the race despite Oklahoma taking the top four spots. Runners for the home state finished ahead of their counterparts for 10 of the next 11 spots after the top four.

Oklahoma finished with 93 points. Arkansas won with 86 points.

Lake Hamilton sophomore William Swecker qualified for the meet. He placed 35th at 17:35.80.

Lake Hamilton senior Skylar Davis qualified as an alternate. He ran a 21st-place time of 17:08.81.

Arkansas also won the girls' race with 23 points to 35 for Oklahoma.
