Dear editor:
This letter is in response to the note left on my windshield Friday regarding a sticker on my car. The sticker reads, "My cat is a Democrat"! The anonymous note asked my car, i.e. cats, questions regarding his/her position on four political issues. I will be replying for "them" because they do not write.
- Are you for abortion on demand?
My female cat is fat and content. She hasn't tried to run away since I found her on the street -- cold, wet, starving and pregnant. A trip to the vet for a wellness checkup, abortion, and spay seems to have helped her thrive. She didn't demand it but I did. I did not want to raise kittens, try to find homes for them or put them in foster care. I think every female should have the right to determine what medical path she chooses to follow.
- Are you for free health care at taxpayers' expense?
You bet -- if "all" paid taxes and the tax laws were equitable.
- Are you for no borders/end ICE?
The only things I would like ICE'd are the vitriol/untruths and racist remarks spewed and tweeted each day.
- Are you for free college education for every kitten?
No, all the cats I have known have had no interest in going or sending their kittens to college. That aside, I've had a couple of "cat mates" that were smarter than a lot of college educated people I've known.
