HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Hot Springs Concert Band will present its annual fall concert at the Woodlands Auditorium at 3 p.m. Oct. 14. The band is under the direction of conductor Craig Hamilton. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Each year, the fall concert is sponsored by Community First Trust.

This year's concert is titled "Autumn Leaves," and the band will play "Autumn Leaves," a popular non-American jazz standard. Eric Whittaker's "October" continues the theme, as does Johann Strauss's polka, "Thunder and Lightning."

Halloween gets a nod with "House of Horrors: A Medley of Spooky Music." Featured in this amusing medley are Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor"; Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain"; Chopin's "Funeral March"; and Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette." The audience can expect Hamilton to be at his wittiest when he conducts this piece, a release said.

The band will perform its obligatory Sousa march, "The Thunderer," chosen by Hamilton.

For movie music fans, the band will also present music from "Lawrence of Arabia" and "The Wizard of Oz."

Tickets are $12 and are available online at http://www.hsvpoa.org/event-ticket or from any band member.
