The Garland County Quorum Court honored B.J. Smith Monday night for his 15 years of service to the county Board of Equalization.
Smith represented cities and towns on the five-member panel that decides appeals of real estate appraisals that determine property tax amounts. He retired following the conclusion of the five-year reappraisal cycle last year.
"I can't tell you how many dedicated hours he's given to this county," Assessor Shannon Sharp told the quorum court. "He's always done his best for this county."
