Arkansas schedules series against Oklahoma State

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas and Oklahoma State have agreed to a two-game, home-and-home football series for the 2024 and 2027 seasons.

The Razorbacks will travel to Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., during the 2024 season, while Arkansas will host the Cowboys in 2027 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

It will be the first time since 1980 the two teams have squared off against each other, when the Razorbacks defeated Oklahoma State, 33-20, in Little Rock. Overall, Arkansas holds a 30-15-1 advantage in the series, claiming each of the last five meetings with the Cowboys.

The two squads have met 25 times in Little Rock, with the Razorbacks holding a 21-4 record in those matchups. The old Southwest Conference foes first met on Oct. 12, 1912, in Fayetteville, with the program's first win over the Cowboys coming a year later in a 3-0 victory on Oct. 18, 1913.

In addition to Oklahoma State, Arkansas previously announced non-conference contests against Notre Dame in 2020 and 2025 and Texas in 2021.

The Cowboys were 4-7 in Mike Gundy's first season in 2005, but they have averaged more than nine wins in the last 12 seasons with six or more wins in the Big 12 Conference in seven of the last nine years. Oklahoma State is currently 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12 ahead of Saturday's road game at Kansas State (2-4, 0-3).

Bobby Petrino was 34-17 and 17-15 in the Southeastern Conference in his four years in Fayetteville, but the Razorbacks are just 33-42 overall and 13-35 in conference play in the past six seasons.

The Hogs are 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the SEC heading into Saturday night's matchup with Ole Miss (4-2, 0-2) at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The game is scheduled to be broadcast on the SEC Network (Resort Channel 79).
