An unidentified juvenile female who had been shot "multiple times" was found in the 100 block of Housley Point Road around noon Thursday, according to the Garland County Sheriff's Department.

Housley Point Road was still blocked off with yellow crime scene tape at 1:30 p.m. as investigators worked the scene.

The female was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital, said Under Sheriff Jason Lawrence.

Lawrence, asked about reports that the shooting was the result of a carjacking, said they were "investigating all possibilities at this point."

The owner of a dump truck that was behind the yellow crime scene tape told a reporter that his employees observed the girl crawling across the road and stopped to help.
