Dear editor:
This letter is response to a Sept. 9 letter by Mr. Herbert "Ronnie" Rodgers in which he states we are all in grave danger because President Trump is mentally unfit for office (fear mongering). I wish he had stated any psychiatrist or psychologist credentials, which would've given his claims a little more validity.
Now I don't know if his claims are based on his own observations/bias or he got this from the recent smears from the NY Times anonymous Op-Ed or the latest "tell-all" Trump bashing book by Bob Woodard. Both of them have much doubt associated with them according to people inside the administration who should know. Ever since Trump was elected, there has been an obvious effort by liberals and most of the press to discredit and undermine his presidency. These two are just the latest efforts in trying to accomplish that goal.
Can President Trump be brash, rude and stretch the truth at times (what politician doesn't?)? Yes. However, there is no denying that his agenda has been successful in reviving the economy (through tax cuts and deregulation), unemployment is at record lows, wages are up, dramatic decreases in numbers of people on welfare and food stamps, gotten further than anybody else in trying to denuclearize North Korea, attempting to rework trade deals that have been historically bad for the U.S., built the military back up, steering the court system back to some degree of sanity, I could go on and on.
Doesn't sound crazy to me, it sounds like he's a smart guy and knows what he is doing. Of course, he has accomplished these things despite total obstruction efforts by Democrats (and some Republicans) and the media, plus having to endure the so far baseless Russian collusion investigation.
Just because President Trump is maybe foolish sometimes doesn't mean he is mentally unbalanced and should be removed from office. He was duly elected to office per the Constitution and these irrational efforts to try to undermine his administration need to stop.
