Lake Hamilton's short trip to Hot Springs' Tommy J. Holt Field at Joe Reese Stadium did not seem to have any effect on the Class 6A team Friday as they rolled to a 42-0 halftime lead before securing a 42-7 win over the Trojans.

The win gave the Wolves (3-0) a 15-5 lead on the series over the Trojans (0-3).

While Hot Springs struggled to stop the Lake Hamilton Wolves on their initial drive, the 76-yard run by Malik Brewer on the first play from scrimmage was called back on a personal foul call against the Wolves.

Six plays later, Carlos Brewer ran it in from the 11-yard line to officially get the Wolves on the scoreboard before Spencer Hillard kicked the extra point to make it 7-0 with 2:48 off the clock.

The Trojans seemed to get things going offensively, but Malik Brewer picked off an Aaron Williams pass on Hot Springs' initial drive. Three plays later, it appeared the Wolves would get on the scoreboard once again, but yet another penalty called back the long run.

The Wolves had four plays for the end zone in the first half that were called back before eventually scoring. Only the last two plays, a 58-yard pass to Malik Brewer from quarterback Layne Warrick and a 78-yard run from Braden Broughton were good the first time.

Hot Springs managed to get on the board with 3:00 left in the third frame after Damian Walker carried the ball in from the 7-yard line for the Trojans' first points of the season. David Carter's kick set the final.

Hot Springs will play host to Little Rock McClellan (2-0) Friday night at 7 p.m. at Joe Reese Stadium. Lake Hamilton will host El Dorado (1-2) at 7 p.m. at Wolf Stadium.
