Eight Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts students were named 2018-19 National Merit Semifinalists. The students, from left, are Noah Raby, of Newport, Jade Ma, of Bryant, Blake Jefferson, of Benton, Rachel Stall, of Clarksville, Kendele Kramer, of Batesville, Saoirse Disney-McKeethen, of Fayetteville, Andrew Astre, of Alma, and Alex Kaye, of Conway. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced the names of the Semifinalists for the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program on Wednesday. The students will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $31 million that will be offered next spring.
