Kevin F. Parks, 25, and Brittany Deann Carter, 28, who both list the same Cleo Street address, were taken into custody in the 200 Block of Silver Creek Cove shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday and each charged with residential burglary, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

They both remained in custody in lieu of $5,000 bonds and were set to appear Monday afternoon in Garland County District Court for a plea and arraignment.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Garland County sheriff's Deputy Shane Tatum responded to the 100 block of Silver Creek in reference to a burglary in progress and found the homeowner's vehicle, a white minivan, sitting in the middle of the road.

The homeowner said she saw a car try to leave the road, which was a dead end, but it was blocked by her minivan. The deputy had her move her car and drove down the road, where he found a silver BMW car without a license plate. The occupants had reportedly fled into the woods.

After the deputy instructed the occupants to come out of the woods over his PA system, they complied and were later identified as Parks and Carter. They were both placed in custody as the homeowner said several items were reportedly missing and that she had been the victim of several other burglaries.

Carter reportedly said she and Parks had not entered the house, but gave deputies the name of a woman, 24, who had entered the house and was "still in or around the house." Deputies searched the house but did not find anyone.

Carter reportedly stated she was only in the area to retrieve her daughter from a friend's house, but the other woman wanted to stop at the Silver Creek house, since it was for sale. She said she observed the white van pull into the driveway and back out. After Parks told her law enforcement would be there soon, Carter said she drove the car further down the dead end road.

Animal control was contacted due to the presence of a small dog in the suspects' vehicle and both Carter and Parks were transported to the Garland County Detention Center. An estimated $500 worth of items were allegedly missing from the house.

Morganne A. Parker, 26, who lists a Cantina Street address, was taken into custody at the scene at 2705 Central Ave., and charged with a felony count of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, punishable by up to six years in prison, and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and public intoxication.

She was later released on $3,500 bond and is set to appear Oct. 8 in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Deputy Andrew Wells, the game room manager and food and beverage manager of Oaklawn Racing and Gaming were called to Pop's lounge regarding a woman who had been "cut off" from drinking further. The game room manager and Wells escorted the woman, later identified as Parker, to the lobby.

After several failed attempts to get her to find her friends so they could drive her home, the game room manager offered to pay for a cab to take her home but she reportedly refused. She then allegedly started to bang her head against the wall.

As she attempted to stand up, she reportedly fell over a wheelchair and a plant. After being helped to her feet, she allegedly became combative and refused to listen to directions. She was placed under arrest by Wells with the help of the operations manager for Oaklawn. While waiting outside of the building for transport to the detention center, Parker allegedly turned and spat in Well's face, resulting in the assault charge.
