The next meeting of National Park Photography Club will be a hands-on tabletop workshop on "The Making of a Photograph," following a saying by famed photographer Ansel Adams, "You don't take a photograph, you make it."
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Garland County Library's auditorium. Guests are welcome.
The club will provide a variety of interesting objects, various lighting options and choices of backgrounds to stimulate creativity. Several experienced photographers will be on hand to help beginners who want to learn what makes a good still life image.
"Composition, lighting, and mood are all part of the creative process. Regardless of whether it is a portrait photographer, a landscape, architectural or a nature photographer, there is a lot you can learn from still life tabletop photographic experiences," a news release said.
"You can improve your composition skills, see how different kinds and directions of light affect a scene and how perspective can make an image more interesting and dynamic," the release said.
The National Park Photography Club is a member of the Photographic Society of America and the Gulf States Camera Clubs Council. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the library.
