Master Gardenersexpand sale, show

Garland County Master Gardeners will host its annual Plant Sale and Garden Show on Saturday, April 27, at the Garland County Fairgrounds, 4831 Malvern Ave. The free event will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hundreds of plants will be for sale that have been "lovingly grown by the Master Gardeners." Plants will be in Building 6. The Garden Show will be in Buildings 3 and 5. There will be educational booths and demonstrations as well as four well-known horticulture speakers. Chris Olsen will be the keynote speaker.

Local nursery and garden vendors with tools and garden art will be sold. A children's activity area will feature craft projects as part of the event, and there will also be a silent auction.

Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase at the Extension Homemakers Council building.

Whitfield GardenClub meets Tuesday

Whitfield Garden Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Huntleigh Wood Club House. Hostesses are Deborah Krauss and Adrianne Kahn.

The program, "Plants for Birds," will be presented by Jerry Butler, an Audubon member.

VCK Democratic Women's Club to meet

The VCK Democratic Women's Club will hold its next meeting on Tuesday at the Landmark building. The guest speaker will be Dennis Cooper, director of Garland County Habitat for Humanity. A social and refreshments will be at 5:30 p.m., with the meeting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
