Library hosts free knitting classes

The Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave., will present a free, five-week knitting class every Saturday in March from 10 a.m. to noon.

All Things Fiber, a local art and craft group, will be teaching Knitting 101 starting Saturday, March 2, and continuing each Saturday in March.

The course will cover knitting basics, including casting on, purling, increasing, decreasing and binding off.

The Friends of the Garland County Library has donated funds to purchase all materials for the attendees, including patterns. Teachers are prepared to instruct both left- and right-handed knitters and will provide one-on-one help and feedback as requested.

This course is free to attend and includes all materials, but registration is limited. Sign up at http://www.gclibrary.com or by calling the library at 501-623-4161.

The All Things Fiber group meets at 9:30 a.m. each Thursday at the Garland County Library. Knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers, hand-sewers, and all fiber workers are welcome to bring their projects to share with the group, request assistance, or enjoy the company of other fiber artists. Everyone is welcome to attend.
