A traffic stop on a vehicle with fictitious tags resulted in the arrest late Sunday of two local women on multiple felony charges after drugs and a loaded gun were allegedly found.

Kaitlin Victoria Coleman, 22, who lists a Halteria Street address, and Louvenia Christall White, 24, who lists a Seventh Street address, were both taken into custody around 11:45 p.m. and each charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, possession of a controlled substance, MDMA, with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to 20 years, and possession of meth with purpose to deliver, punishable by up to 10 years.

Coleman and White were both being held on zero bond and were set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Hot Springs police Cpl. Brandon Jones made a traffic stop on a silver 2015 Kia Soul after a computer check showed the license plate returned to a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice.

He made contact with the driver, identified as White, and front seat passenger, identified as Coleman, and noted both appeared to be "extremely nervous." He asked if they had anything illegal in the car and White "immediately looked" at a plastic bag in the driver's side door and hesitated before answering "no."

White reportedly gave Jones consent to search the vehicle and the bag was allegedly found to contain seven pills shaped like cartoon characters identified as MDMA or ecstasy. He also reportedly found a backpack on the floorboard that contained a box of .380 bullets and a small digital scale. Then he found a loaded .380 pistol under the front passenger seat.

Another small plastic bag was found that allegedly contained 0.25 gram of what later tested positive for meth. Both women were taken into custody without incident at that point.
