Lady Rams down Benton, Rams handed first defeat

BENTON -- Lakeside's girls avenged their home loss to the Benton Lady Panthers to kick off the second half of the season Thursday night at Professor Bowl in Benton.

The Lady Rams (3-4, 2-3 5A-West) led the entire match, finishing with 1,730 pins to Benton's 1,659.

Destiny Phillips led her pair with games of 118 and 134 for a two-game series of 252. Chloe Junkerman finished with a series of 248 with games of 108 and 140, and Abby Shelby bowled games of 98 and 135 for a 233 series.

Kaithlyn Nguyen bowled a series of 263 to lead her pair (135, 128). Paige Hines bowled games of 121 and 128 for a two-game series of 249, and Rachel Langley finished with games of 87 and 137 for a series of 224.

The Rams (6-1, 4-1) were handed their first loss as Benton avenged its loss earlier this season in Hot Springs. The Panthers knocked down 2,544 pins to Lakeside's 2,420.

Kade Arguello led his pairing with games of 175 and 193 for a game series of 268. Landon Gray carded games of 164 and 195 for a series of 359, and Jimmy Tejcek bowled a two-game series of 357 with games of 176 and 181.

Tyson Keeney bowled games of 217 and 173 to lead his pair with a 390 series. Dilann Allen finished with games of 167 and 148 for a 315 series, and Hunter Rhodes and Kade Tarbet split their series with games of 141 and 135, respectively.

The Rams traveled to Conway to take on Bauxite Friday, and they will host Texarkana on Monday at Central Bowling Lanes.
