Lakeside sets summer volleyball programs

Lakeside's Rising Rams skills and drills camp is set for Saturday at Lakeside Athletic Complex.

The Rising Rams program is a recreational volleyball league for third through sixth grade girls to develop fundamental volleyball skills.

There will be two camps held Saturday. Third- and fourth-grade players will meet from 8--9 a.m., while fifth- and sixth-grader players will meet from 9--10 a.m.

The team draft will follow the camps. Registration for the Rising Rams program must be paid prior to the skills and drills camps.

* The Lakeside Rams MTXE volleyball camp for players entering second through sixth grades will be held June 3--5 in the Lakeside junior high gymnasium.

The cost for the camp is $50 per camper. There are three levels to the camp with second- through fourth-grade players to meet from 8--10 a.m., fifth- and sixth-grade players from 10 a.m. to noon and seventh-grade players in a separate group from 10 a.m. to noon.

This camp will give participants an introduction of skills while those entering the seventh grade will receive more advanced instruction.

There will also be a camp for volleyball players entering ninth through 12th grades on June 13--14 at Lakeside Athletic Complex with Ole Miss head volleyball coach Steve McRoberts.

The camp is limited to 20 athletes.
