Man found deceased after minor wreck
A Hot Springs man was found dead in his vehicle, apparently a result of a medical issue, after a minor collision with a tree Monday morning, according to Hot Springs police.
Gary Hitzeman, 76, was driving a 2006 Ford Ranger eastbound on Trivista Right Street near its intersection with Talisman Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Hitzeman was pronounced dead at the scene and Cpl. Joey Williams said Tuesday his death appeared to be the result of a medical issue of some kind. He noted the damage to the vehicle from the collision was minimal.
Road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary.
