Local artist Mary Turek will present an art show today through July 31 in the Magnolia Room at Garvan Woodland Gardens. Turek will be present at a Meet the Artist event from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and again Saturday, July 18. Painting since 1934, she works primarily with acrylics and is experienced in watercolors, pastel, oil and sketching with India ink. She has also enjoyed painting on Bavarian china. This is her first showing in Arkansas. She has volunteered to teach painting for the past two years to the residents of Country Club Village for what she calls “Make a Difference Day.”
