MENA – Erik Owens, a senior at Mena High School and vice president of JOLT, the junior arm of Ouachita Little Theatre, will direct “The Outsiders,” in his directorial debut.

With a cast and crew of around 30, the play was a major undertaking for a summer performance by JOLT. The entire cast and most of the crew are aged 5-18, assisted by a few adults. The dark drama involves teen gangs in a school where the rich and poor bump up against each other and the haves-versus-the-have-nots occurrences ensue with a tragic outcome.
