Instruments add flavor to concert

Chaski to perform with choirs

The Austin-based Andean-instrument band Chaski will join a consortium of four Hot Springs choirs on Saturday for “In the Shadow of the Andes,” a concert featuring “Misa Criolla” by Argentinean composer Ariel Ramírez.

Chaski means “messenger” in the Incan language of Quechua. In the spirit of this Andean traveler, Chaski brings to its audiences music from Latin America, incorporating costumes, traditional dances and cultural and historical insight.
