Lauray’s The Diamond Center, 402 Central Ave., will show works by local artist Bill Wells from 5-8 p.m. today during Hot Springs Gallery Walk.

Wells works in a realistic style but his methods are sometimes rather unorthodox. The mostly self-taught artist begins his oil paintings by placing a black-and-white underpainting in acrylic on grayed masonite panels. He sometimes combines egg tempera with watercolor, but lately his preferred medium is pure transparent watercolor.
