A 77-year-old Hot Springs man was reportedly shot by two would-be robbers who broke into his home late Sunday.

Hot Springs police responded to the victim’s residence on Greenwood Avenue around 10:30 p.m. and found the victim sitting in a chair holding a handgun and bleeding from a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

The victim states he was sleeping in his bedroom when he was awakened by two unknown black males crawling in through his window. One suspect demanded money and threatened to kill the victim’s dog.
