Hostage situation ends in Garland County with 2 dead

A Hot Springs man accused in a string of auto thefts and other crimes across central Arkansas was shot and killed early Friday by a Garland County sheriff’s sniper after a hostage situation in which the man’s former pregnant girlfriend was killed.

Todd Bostian, 32, had reportedly taken Kacey Meyers, 18, hostage Wednesday morning from her home in Ward and was stealing cars and using stolen credit cards as he made his way around the state avoiding authorities who were after him. Meyers was reportedly five months pregnant.
