Burglary leads to 6-year prison term
A local man was sentenced to six years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to burglarizing a home in January.
Marco Antonio Garcia, 26, of Hot Springs, was set to stand trial today on a felony charge of residential burglary, but opted to plead guilty instead. He was also ordered to pay $150 in restitution and court costs. Garcia, who was previously convicted of burglary in 2006, has been free on $5,000 bond since shortly after his arrest Jan. 21.
