An increasing number of Arkansas parolees ask to be sent to Garland County – presumably because of the jail’s “revolving door” atmosphere.

That information was delivered by two consultants who met with county and city officials to discuss the Garland County Detention Center and its possible future expansion.

Mark Goldman with Mark Goldman & Associates Inc., of Atlanta, and John Alese with Alese Construction Consulting, of Tucson, Ariz., spoke with members of the Garland County Quorum Court after a tour of the jail, which often suffers from overcrowding.
