A Texarkana man was arrested on felony drug charges early Sunday after Hot Springs police responded to a report of a battery at a local motel.

Matthew Clayton Jacobs, 32, was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, both punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and misdemeanor counts of third-degree domestic battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Jacobs, who is on parole from a 2002 felony conviction in Clarksville, was being held without bond and is set to appear Aug. 11 in Hot Springs District Court.
