U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-District 4, who finds himself at the eye of the storm in the negotiations over national health care reform, assured his constituents Wednesday that he’s not trying to kill it.

“Let me be clear: We are not trying to kill health care reform,” Ross said during a telephone interview that was squeezed in between votes on the House floor and meetings with the House leadership.

“Those that think that I am are probably going to be sorely disappointed at the end of the day. That’s never been our intention,” Ross said.
