Concerns voiced on water plant

Unaccounted for water loss, a neighborhood recreational area, higher water rates, cost, and haste, were some of the concerns voiced by persons attending a public hearing Tuesday night on a proposed water treatment plant.

With its two water treatment plants nearing capacity and/or the end of their useful lives, the city began working through the Mid-Arkansas Water Alliance about six years ago to secure additional water from Lake Ouachita to meet its needs for the next 50 years.
