Rainfall not near record levels

Unofficial amount for July at 8.68 inches so far

Barring a last-minute deluge, Hot Springs won’t set a record for rainfall in July, like some other areas in the state. In fact, it’s not even close.

While Little Rock shattered a long-standing record on Thursday, Hot Springs’ July rainfall amount will likely wind up No. 7 on its “top 10” list, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, Little Rock had measured 9.47 inches of rain so far this July. The previous wettest July was in 1891, with 9.23 inches.
