The Hot Springs Board of Directors unanimously adopted an ordinance at their Tuesday night meeting at City Hall authorizing the issuance of more than $28 million in wastewater bonds.

The bonds will be used to fund the first round of projects to correct inflow and infiltration problems in the sewer system.

During a public hearing on the issue, District 3 Director Cynthia Keheley asked Deputy City Manager for Public Works and Utilities Steve Mallett if more bond issues would be needed in the future to accomplish all the wastewater projects.
