Residents of the Diamondhead Community were shaken early Friday morning by a tremor that moved through the area, shaking houses and rattling windows.

Diamondhead Police Chief Pat Mahoney said residents “lit up” the department’s telephone switchboard around 8:02 a.m. to report the earthquake.

“As far as damage goes, none have been reported as of yet, but it did shake us pretty good over here, though,” Mahoney said.
